TEBP Website - Mentoring/Business Coaching

Business people can help students develop attitudes, skills and competencies that are important for their future employment and adult life. One hour of a business person's time can be of great value and can inform and motivate students.

Tamar EBP will liaise with a school and identify what support is needed from business, and will ensure business people are well briefed and have any materials required.  We will also let business people know if a CRB check is required.

We engage successful business people who have great expertise to make learning more relevant for young people.  The WRL activities are designed to meet the curriculum objectives relevant to each school, e.g. presentation skills, interviews, job applications, leadership, mentoring, vocational and key skills, active citizenship, background to business and enterprise, career planning and progression and innovative ed-bus projects.

The learning undertaken will inspire, motivate and challenge young people and help them develop their confidence, knowledge and skills for future learning and work.

The activities will:

Contribute to 14-19 learners’ motivation, confidence and achievement, and make learning more relevant to the world of work.

Increase learners’ economic and business understanding/enterprise capability/ financial literacy and attain employer involvement.

Provide work-related experiences and simulations that give learners the chance to develop their understanding, knowledge, skills and attitudes and to assess their own performance.
